Snips needs your contact details in order to be able to contact you and fulfil your Snips Token purchase. The legal basis for the processing of your personal data for that purpose is the conclusion and performance of the contract of sale between you and Snips.
Snips also needs information about your identity, including a copy of your official ID, as well as your country of residence, to be able to verify the identity of all the participants in the token sale, both to ensure the sale remains safe for all participants, and to comply with some of the requirements that financial institutions we rely on to receive the proceeds of the token sale apply to us. The basis for this processing of your personal information is our legitimate interest in securing the token sale, as well as the performance of the contract of sale between you and Snips.
The provision of this information is a condition for us to allow you to purchase Snips Tokens. Failure to provide any of the above information will disqualify you from participating in the Token Sale.
We may share your information with our service providers in the context of the Token Sale, as well as with financial institutions, networks, and exchanges that provide us with the means to accept your chosen method of payment. We may also share your information with competent regulatory authorities for legitimate reasons. If this involves your data being stored or accessed from outside of the EU, we will make sure we implement adequate measures to secure the data transfer, such as a data transfer agreement based on the EU Commission’s model clauses.
Third parties, such as our KYC partner Jumio or the network you use to make a purchase in cryptocurrencies, may also collect your information during the purchasing process. Please check their privacy notices for information on how they use your personal data.
We will store your information for as long as you hold Snips Tokens, and for the applicable statute of limitations period thereafter.
You have the right to request access to, rectification or erasure of your personal data or the restriction of the processing of your personal data, or to object to the processing, as well as the right to data portability, under the conditions laid out in the GDPR. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, and to give us instructions on how to handle your personal data in the event of your death.
For more information or to exercise your rights, please contact our Token Sale team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
